This top! I made this one to wear for my mama’s 60th birthday. It’s part of a matching separates set – I had made a matching tea length skirt that goes with it as well. The full outfit is super adorable! Take a look below, this was my look for the party (photo by Padmanie Maulkhan):

Since this outfit was meant for my mom’s birthday party, I decided to make something that she had some say in.

She liked the idea of me wearing something pink or purple and I knew that Fabricland had some great options. I narrowed down a few fabrics and she picked her favourite!

It’s a pink floral linen that was perfect for the spring time birthday bash! It went well with the venue, the decor and definitely stood out a sea of dresses (or so I like to think, anyways!)

The one thing I would change would be the type of fabric I used. It’s linen, so there’s no stretch to it. I think a stretch knit would have worked better…or maybe I just need more practice. ha!

Materials
Linen  – Fabricland
Lining – Mom’s collection
Pattern: Simplicity – inspired by Project Runway #1650 (bodice portion)
