If you’re looking to make a loose fitting crop top, then all you gotta do is pattern hack Simplicity 1873! This is a pattern for a dress and a jacket, but I used just the bodice to create this top by leaving out the waist darts.

So. Easy.

I wanted to create something super chic, elegant and edgy and this is what I came up with. I used black organza fabric and paired it with regular black double folded bias tape to hide every single seam, including the zipper edges.

I’m absolutely in love with the way this turned out. It was incredibly fast to make and I get so many compliments every time I wear it. And I can either dress it up with a cute skirt or dress it down with boyfriend jeans.

This might be one of my best makes so far!

I also made a how-to video showing the steps. Check it out!
