I’ve been putting off sewing up some cute, lightweight garments because…well, winter. But Spring is here and what a way to kick off the season by highlighting some great fabric options for warm weather sewing.

Style Maker Fabrics

These fabrics are from Style Maker Fabrics. I’ve never used fabric from there before mainly because I’m in Canada and online fabric shopping scares me. I’m that person who needs to touch and feel the material before buying, so I rarely do it. But Michelle was so helpful! I was looking for something with drape and she sent me options that were right up my ally. I’m also not very confident that the material will be exactly what I thought it would when it arrives, so I was pleasantly surprised when I received my fabric in the mail. Does this mean I’ll start to shop online for fabric more often? Um…maybe. Baby steps.

Spring Style Tour 2019

Style Maker Fabrics has a really cool way of introducing their new material each season: They do a style tour and a lucky few of us get to sample their new inventory. The ladies this year have made some really great things and I’m inspired by them. The only down side is that there aren’t enough hours in the day to do it all!

Check out some of the makes on the Spring Style Tour here:

And coming up next on the tour is @sewalteredstyle. Can’t wait to see what she makes!

Rayon! Rayon! Rayon!

I rarely work with rayon fabrics because they tend to be a bit more expensive, so it was almost a no-brainer when it came to choosing rayon for both of my projects. I chose this black rayon challis with cherries (it’s the same fabric Jennifer from Workroom Social used) and this blue pinstriped chambray rayon shirting.

Are you excited for Spring sewing? I have such a huge pile of fabrics ready to go, that I don’t know if I’ll even get through them this year! Comment below and let me know what’s in your stash!
