It’s New Years Eve. You know what that means…time for reflections, resolutions, new year new me, etc. So I decided to take a look through my blog and look back at all of the items I’ve made…and boy did I make a lot of stuff! Check out the collage above. This is almost everything I did! Cray. I wasn’t sure how productive I was this year until I put the collage together!

I also realized how much I learned along the way: patience, trouble shooting, the importance of “measure twice, cut once” haha. I can laugh now, but in the moment…grr….

And because 2015 comes to an end in literally just a few hours, I thought it would be cool to wrap up the year by highlighting my favourite makes.

So here are my top 5 creations that I hope to have in my closet forever. #Classic

#5 Two Tiered Gathered Skirt

This is one of my favourites because I think it’s so classic looking. The length isn’t too short and I can dress it up or dress it down, as I did in the photos below.

#4 Black & Floral Lengha

This was my first attempt at making South Asian wear and I couldn’t be more happy with the way it turned out. What I love about this is that I can wear the skirt on its own as a maxi skirt or wear the crop on its own with jeans or layered under a loose fitting tank.

#3 Pink Jacquard Pleated Dress

I made this dress specially for my aunt’s 50th birthday. It’s super feminine, fits really well and I love the added touch of the belt, which I think is the reason it looks as good as it does. I’ve worn it twice already, and can’t wait to wear it again!

#2 The Organza Crop

This top is UH-MAZING! I truly can’t even believe how great it turned out. It’s so chic and elegant. I can make it look super trendy with jeans (see below) or completely dress it up with a high waisted skirt. I even made a video showing the process. Check it out!

#1 The Black Floral Skirt

This is my favourite make of all time. I just think everything about it is so elegant & classic: the colour, the length, the high waist and the floral detail. I’ve had friends ask me to borrow it…and I had to politely decline haha. Every time I wear it I feel like a million bucks, not to mention the many compliments I get about it!

Honourable mentions to this skirt, just because the photo (& styling!) is so bad-ass. Easily one of the best photo shoots of the year, courtesy of Dani Schmidek.

Special thanks to everyone who helped & supported me along the way this year: Robert, Dani, Humara & my mom. Thanks taking photos, bouncing ideas off of, blog techy stuff, etc.

See ya’ll in 2016!

xo!
