Hi everyone! In this week’s post, I’m sharing with you my DIY jogger pants made from Butterick #6294, view D. Ask anyone from my university days and they’ll tell you I absolutely LIVED in track pants. So when joggers became an acceptable & chick thing to wear, it was my fashion match made in heaven. Truth be told though, I never bought a pair which worked out just fine because I’d rather make it anyways.

Construction:

As mentioned above, these pants are made from Butterick #6294, view D. This was a very easy make – there are a few amount of pattern pieces and the instructions are really easy to follow. These are high waisted elastic pants which is fine, but I think if I were to make these again, I’d lower the waist by about 3″.

Fabric:

This is a mixed fibre knit stretch fabric from Fabricland. I’m not too sure what that blend really means, but I got it for dirt cheap: 3m for $8.00. It’s got a good stretch 2-way stretch and it’s quite comfortable.

Final Thoughts:

I love these pants! I don’t really put them away in my closet because they’ve become my go-to pair of casual pants to just throw on if I have to run somewhere. I’ll definitely be making these again as a lower waisted pant or maybe I’ll even pattern hack this and turn it into a cute romper. Lots of possibilities with this one!

  1. First time on your site and I love the pants! Did you make the black blouse as well? If so, what pattern is it from? Thanks!
